• CHRISC RWANDA STREET KIDS PROJECT
    The Street Kids project was initiated by a LNU Intern; Magne Christian Sturoed, who pitied so many idle and drug addicted street boys in Mburabuturo and Karugira localities in Kigali, City of Rwanda. He then decided to start a sports program for them, and football training twice a week was a routine. And with the support of Papias Nyangezi who currently is the project coordinator, street kids were reached and fetched from their destinations and engaged into an Educative Sports Program in Kigali.read more

  • URUGERO GIRLS PROJECT
    This is the new project that is its starting stages. One girl’s team of 19 players aged between 10 – 17 years are in the team. The focus is to bring the idle girls together through sports, and discuss the challenging issues affecting the girl child today. By doing this we are reaching the government goal of empowering women, as we develop their leadership skills and help them identify talents and competencies they have.
    Currently we have two girls of the names; Solange and Mahoro in CHRISC Leadership and they have defined roles within the Sports docket.
    The team meets three times a week and are coached by CHRISC Rwanda Sports Officer.read more

  • SPECIAL TRAINING PROJECTS
    Brief Description
    CHRISC Rwanda Special Training Project supports the capacity development program that is implemented through the Sports and Education Program in CHRISC Rwanda.

    It was started with an aim of providing foundational skills to CHRISC Volunteers and Leaders in Rwanda alongside the Leadership and Organizational Development courses that are compulsory to any recruited volunteer and leader. read more

  • EAST AFRICA CUP
    The East Africa Cup (EAC) is a youth football tournament for both boys and girls between and including the ages 12–16 held annually the last week of June in Moshi, Kilimanjaro-Tanzania.
    The tournament is organized by five partner organizations namely; Norwegian Peoples Aid (NPA) Tanzania, KRIK Norway, CHRISC East Africa, Mathare Youth Sports Association (MYSA) Kenya and Elimu Michezo Na Mazoezi (EMIMA) Tanzania. EAC is inspired by Norway cup which has had a similar event running for the last 30 years, only on a much larger scale of over 1500 teams from all around the world.
    The tournament was first held in June 2004, it is gaining a lot of interest and is now very strong and growing.  This year, 50 teams participated in the football tournament, whereas 5 cultural groups participated in the culture seminars and performed every evening. The tournament is first and foremost about education and awareness building, sports is the chosen tool used to achieve this.

    CHRISC Rwanda was represented by one U13 Boys team.
